#Devlog 4: Playing with some words in the new dictionary

Hello everyone!

We've been working on the innovative mechanics of this installment for you, we hope that it will help you to have a greater approach to the mechanics that the game will have. Mainly, an interactive dictionary was made in which some words can be stored, original music was implemented and different themes were available, one for each level but, we are still working on this last issue.

Mussic Assets

Now we implement our own songs in the game. As soon as you open the game you find one of our songs in the main menu. We have different melodies for each moment:

  1. happy melody; which tries to represent a happy moment for the character.
  2. Sad melody; which tries to represent a sad moment for the character.
  3. Deadpan melody; which does not try to represent any emotion for the character.
  4. Tense melody; which tries to generate an atmosphere of tension for the character.
  5. Relaxed melody; which tries to generate an atmosphere of relaxation for the character.

With those five melodies we believe that it is enough to cover the different scenes that we have planned for future players of our game.

Dictionary/Inventory

Now we have a functional interactive dictionary, in which you can store words obtained in the different scenes of the game.

In order to store words in the dictionary, they must be dragged to it.

Once we drop them into the dictionary, they will be stored as text.

Word Interaction

We can use the words learned to advance in the game. For now we have only managed to use one word to tidy up the bed that comes out messy when you start the game.

Victory Condition

When you make up the bed with the learned word you get a victory.

Fix Some Bugs

Fixed errors related to the pause menu, main menu, the dictionary and the different levels. Now, you can access the pause menu from any scene by pressing the "P" key or, on some computers, the "ESC" key.

We hope you're as excited as we are to try the game when we finish it!
